StillCon 2 Convention Information:
Where: Stillwater, Oklahoma
When: March 26 to 28, 2010
What: We are hosting a gaming convention featuring a huge variety of games. We select one game each year for the theme of the convention. Last year's theme was White Wolf games. This year's theme is Legend of the Five Rings.
Who: We are a community of gaming guys and gals who want to keep the gaming convention, formerly known as Steelcon, going in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Programming Includes:
Legend of the Five Rings Card Game Tournament: There will be a L5R premiere storyline tournament on Saturday starting at 10:00 am. The tournament will be 40/40 Celestial constructed with a set of display samauri armor and a box set for first place. At night, there will be a L5R LARP for Winter Court at the time of the Lying Darkness. Trading is encouraged all weekend.
Magic the Gathering Card Game Tournaments: Three Booster Draft Tournaments will be available over the weekend. One Friday Night Magic booster draft, a massive booster draft tournament on Saturday and one booster draft on Sunday is planned. We will also have specialty tournaments. See our Magic schedule for more information. Trading is encouraged all weekend.
Warhammer 40,000 Tournament: There will be a 3 round Rogue Trader tournament Saturday starting at 10:00 am and concluding around 6:00 pm. Player are expected to have their Codex with them and have a typed and printed army roster at check-in. (Army builder sheets are fine but we will still be checking the math).
Role-playing Games: The RPGA will run games all Saturday for Dungeon and Dragons 4th Edition fans. Patherfinder Society games for all levels will run throughout the weekend. We will also have Fantasy Craft, Spycraft and open tables for pick up games.
Munchkin: All day Saturday, we will be playing Munchkin in the restaurant area. There will be several decks per table of Munchkin running as open games.
Miniature Painting: Saturday from noon to 6pm we will have a paint and take event hosted by Reaper. Reaper will provide the miniatures, paints and brushes. Demonstrate your skill at painting these highly detailed miniatures. We will also host a speed painting contest on Saturday from noon to 4pm. See if you can paint samauri spearmen from Clan Wars in under one hour.
Panels: In the theater room we will host Samauri movies throughout the weekend. There will be 4 panels during breaks in the movies: Good LARP / Bad LARP, Illustrating for the Game Industry, Developing your New Game, Why your L5R Clan Sucks.
